Good Saturday Morning! Booze talk.

The beginning of the weekend for most people, well, if you don’t count last night.

Anyone hungover?

Not here.   We had a quiet night chilling out with the pack and the illusion box.

I thought about having a drink last night but shrugged it off.

Speaking of which, here are my favorite homemade drinks:

  • Cadillac Margarita:  Simple.  Mix, ice and tequila into an salt rimmed glass, squeeze a lime slice and most important, Gran Marnier  on the top.

  • Cosmo:  Yes, the girlie drink.  Absolut Citron vodka from the freezer, 3 oz (4 oz if you want to stagger), Rose’s sweetened lime juice, 1 oz, cranberry juice, 2 oz, and Triple Sec, 2 oz.  Shaken not stirred.  Ice in the shaker and strained into the glass with a slice of lime.

  • Kahlua and Irish Cream:  This started out from party days of long ago as a B-52.  The B-52 was a triple layered shot of Kahlua, Baileys and Gran Marnier.  It tasted so good but seemed wasted as a shot.  So I started doing that mix over ice, to enjoy.  The home version, cheap version, that I sometimes use is just Kahlua and a cheap Irish Cream like Carolines or O’Mara’s and no Gran Marnier.  Ends up being more like an enhanced Kahlua and cream.  Oh, the best ‘warming’ drink is hot chocolate with Kahlua and Irish Cream. Yum!

The Margarita is used when making burritos, of course.  The Cosmo when I want a good buzzed feeling.  The Kahlua family for sweet drinks.

Have a great weekend all!

I wondered if you had a way of frosting it with ice crystals instead of salt. It sounded somewhat appealing except when they melt and the outside of the glass gets wet. I guess if you drink it fast…
