I started reading “Writing Down the Bones” by Natalie Goldberg.

This edition has a preface that she wrote in 2004.  The book was originally published in 1986.

She quoted some of what Jack Kerouac wrote:

Accept loss forever.

Be submissive to everything, open, listening.

No fear or shame in the dignity of your experience, language, and knowledge.

Be in love with your life.

Do you think about the cliche, “everything happens for a reason” and wonder what that reason is?

This is what I think it is:  Life.

Everything is about your life.  Shit happens.  Love happens.  Pain happens.  Joy happens.

It’s all an experience, treasure it in all of its forms.  Learn.  Grow.

Be in love with your life.

Joy
